This fall, Pi Sigma Epsilon at Virginia Tech proudly hosted the first annual Miles for Minds 5K in support of the JED Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting emotional health and preventing suicide among teens and young adults.

The event brought together students, faculty, and community members with one shared goal, to turn miles into impact and raise awareness for mental health. Participants walked, jogged, and ran through campus while raising thousands of dollars to support suicide prevention and mental health education.

We were honored to welcome Hokie Wellness as our guest speakers, who shared inspiring stories and reminded us why this cause matters so deeply. Their presence and message reinforced the importance of open conversations about mental health and supporting one another.
The success of our first 5K marks the beginning of an annual tradition that aims to strengthen awareness, build community, and remind everyone that they are not alone. Together, we’re running with purpose to end the stigma surrounding mental health.
