Business Olympics

Our chapter started the semester strong by planning our first Business Olympics for students across the US and beyond to compete in. The vice president of professional development, the PD chair, and members of the committee constructed a competition schedule of interviewing, speed-style sales pitch, and sales pitch competitions.

Taking place online, Business Olympics included over 20 participants, joining from Virginia Tech, CUNY Baruch College, and Sikkim Municipal Institute of Technology. The event gave competitors an opportunity to practice their sales and marketing skills, while also networking and competing for cash prizes. ALKU, Gartner, and the director of sales department at Virginia Tech, Brian Collins, sponsored the event and judged the competitions. Delta Epsilon hopes to make this new tradition even more successful with each year to come!

Recruitment Takeoff

Recruitment Director Callie Fabrie planned a recruitment that had us dreaming about summer again! Our new prospective member class was selected after a week of beach-themed events including Meet the Brothers, Speed Dating, Resume Review, and Game Night. With the help of our human resources and graphics teams and the whole brotherhood, our chapter added 26 prospective members!

First Date Party

At the end of the busy month, our members were rewarded with the first date party of the semester at The Milk Parlor in downtown Blacksburg. Members were able to bring a guest for a night of dancing, food and fun. We look forward to more opportunities to spend time together as a brotherhood!

Welcoming Prospective Members

26 prospective members started their journey into the brotherhood with a friendly competition of yard games. The prospective members were able to enjoy the day despite the rain and got to know each other and the brothers while they played games and took part in team-building activities. Brothers Lindsey DeJonghe and Deonté Felder are coordinating the process and are doing a great job already. The brothers are very excited to keep guiding them along their journey through the process of joining the brotherhood!

September Brother of the Month

We are excited to highlight September’s Brother of the Month, Callie Fabrie! Callie was our recruitment director for this fall’s recruitment process and put in many hours to coordinate several successful events to welcome 26 new prospective members. She also participated in the Sales Pitch Competition at our very own Business Olympics, which her team won! Thank you Callie for your contributions to PSE. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for reading this month’s chapter newsletter. Please stay tuned for updates on chapter activities!
